At Anglo Siam Legal, we aim to make legal services accessible, transparent, and predictable. While the majority of our services are conducted on a Fixed-Fee Basis to provide budget certainty, our non-refundable policy reflects the reality that legal work is heavily front-loaded.
This policy outlines how fees are calculated, under what conditions services may be terminated, and how work is quantified via Private Hourly Rates in the event of a dispute, client cancellation, or service termination.
Once you have instructed our firm and/or work has begun, all agreed-upon fixed fees are strictly non-refundable. By instructing our firm and transferring professional fees or retainers, you enter into a mutual agreement to abide by these terms and conditions.
Fees remain non-refundable in full if you change your mind, alter your instructions, decide to cease legal work, or if opposing parties reach an external agreement without further action from us. This policy is in place because significant professional time is invested across both litigation and documentary matters from the very outset, explicitly covering:
Court Litigation Exception: Fees for active court litigation cases can only be refunded, in part or in full, if an independent Thai regulatory body or a competent court of law issues a formal finding of negligence against our firm. We commit to performing to the best of our abilities and exercising due diligence in the conduct of all services.
Anglo Siam Legal maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward unprofessional behavior. We reserve the right to immediately discontinue our services and terminate our instructions if our staff, lawyers, or partners are subjected to:
In the event that we terminate our services due to a breach of client conduct, all fees paid remain entirely non-refundable.
Notwithstanding our standard policies above, in the event of any dispute over fees, a request for a refund, or a premature cancellation/discontinuation of services by the client, Anglo Siam Legal reserves the right to quantify and demonstrate the exact extent of the work carried out.
To achieve this, the matter will automatically revert from a fixed-fee structure to a Private Hourly Fee basis calculated retroactively.
When a matter reverts to private hourly fees, all actions taken on your file are billable as standalone service costs. This includes work that may have previously been absorbed into the fixed fee, such as:
All items listed above will be billed as standalone services at our standard applicable private rates, calculated strictly using the Western Standard 6-minute block increment system (where any fraction of a 6-minute block is rounded up to the next full block).
